My second song with @rootsofcreation is out now!!

My second song with @rootsofcreation is out now!! This time it features @geoffweersmusic of @theexpendables & up-and-comer reggae-pop singer, @sierralanemusic!!

This was actually the first song I recorded with RoC back in June. It's crazy to see what this track has morphed into since then.

Not only am I super grateful for being on this amazing tune with RoC... I'm incredibly honored to be performing on a track with the Expendables lead singer, the voice behind so many of my favorite songs, like "Let Her Go," "Bowl For Two," "Sacrifice," and many more tunes that have helped me become the musician I am today.

This is by far the greatest thing I've ever done. Having Errol Brown, Bob Marley's producer, in the studio recording and mixing for Grateful Dub Vol. 2 was just simply amazing. I'm honestly speechless about everything we did in that studio. When these tracks start coming out, people will be blown away.

Recorded everything live and am so incredibly proud of everything we've accomplished for the record. Couldn't have asked for a better crew to be working with.

Happy New Year!! Thought this would be a great song to cover to end 2022/start 2023

For the upcoming year, I have a couple resolutions that I'd love to share:

1. I want to explore more genres that I'm not familiar with playing. Right now, I've been listening to a whole bunch of funk, soul, & disco (hence the reason I covered this song) and hope to explore and learn many more. If anyone has any requests for songs or grooves, I'd gladly learn and post them!!

2. I want to continue networking (like I've been doing this past year) & possibly work my way into some other genres and continue to build up my resume.

I'm so incredibly grateful for all the opportunities I've gotten this past year and cannot wait to see what the new year holds!!

Maurice Gibb is a phenomenal and very overlooked bassist. I can't believe that I'm finally getting into his bass playing after so many years of hearing the Bee Gees.

I never realized he played with a pick until I was watching some live videos.

"Unquity Road" - Pat Metheny (Bass Cover)

Here's the head to one of my favorite Jaco basslines off of Pat Metheny's debut album, "Bright Size Life." This is definitely one of the hardest songs I've learnt. It's such a beautiful bass part and I've always wanted to cover something off of Metheny's first album (I'd definitely love to cover some more of his tunes in the future). Everytime I sit down and listen to this album, I'm always in disbelief that it was recorded in 1976.

These past couple of days I've been obsessed with Jaco Pastorius and his bass parts, so you can definitely expect some more of his stuff in the future.

I'm trying to think of something to write as I sit

I'm trying to think of something to write as I sit here in the Baltimore airport waiting to get back home for the holidays, but I'm just so speechless...

This past month has been such an amazing experience. Getting asked to hit the road with @sensitrails was a literal dream come true. The amount of memories I've made with these guys, whether it has been riding in the van all day long to get to a venue or jamming at 2 a.m. after a long drive or gig just for the love of creating and bonding through music is countless. I couldn't have asked for a better team of people to have toured with and have shared this wonderful opportunity. I'm going to miss jamming with these guys a hell of a lot, but I know for sure it won't be the last time we cross paths.

Thank you so much @kylerising, @jayfelay, @jstarkedrums, @coleroussos, @steph_milla, @nategash12, @thehappys & to all the fans who have supported the band and myself, especially those who fed us and put us up for nights.

First night in San Diego was a success!! Got to do

First night in San Diego was a success!! Got to do a jam session with some of the guys from @sensitrails and had such a blast. So excited to begin touring with these guys on Friday in Vegas.

The first clip is with @coleroussos on guitar and this one was one of my favs that we did that night. It starts with the head, then goes into a bass solo and a jam over the chord progression. The second clip is with Cole and @jstarkedrums - one of the best drummers I've had the opportunity to jam with.

Here's a really cool bassline from Steve Miller Band's 10th album, "Book of Dreams." I wanted to get one more cover out before I went on tour with @sensitrails and rediscovered this gem from some old playlist I went back to listen to. The bassist on the record, Lonnie Turner, is such an incredible player, with the song showcasing his ability as a songwriter and phenomenal pocket player.

I've been listening to a whole bunch of 311 lately and I think I can say with certainty that they have become my favorite band as of now. For awhile, I used to be really intimidated by a lot of the slap bass stuff because I never thought I was too good at it, but @aaron_wills (P-Nut 🥜) has inspired me to try and get back into doing that stuff and incorporating it into some of my playing too. This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile, but never really knew how or what to do with it. The song doesn't have any bass and I wanted to add bass to it, without getting in the way of anything in the song - more of like adding atmosphere to it. Well, yesterday I was watching some videos of Bonnie Raitt performing with one of my favorite bassists - @freebomusic - and that really gave me the inspiration to add something to this song. What a week it's been!! Had such a great time playing with @rootsofcreation opening up for the Wailers at the Aura in Maine with @mightymystic, as well as playing at the HighLifestyle show in Massachusetts, finishing off the week with two laid-back, acoustic gigs with @brettwilsonmusic.

And I'm super excited to announce: I'm going on tour with @sensitrails!! These guys are some of the coolest and most humble guys in the genre. Hoping I'll see some familiar faces around the country, especially in Texas!!

I remember the day so clearly... I was scrolling

I remember the day so clearly...

I was scrolling through Facebook and I remember someone by the name of Kyle Smith posting about his new album coming out the next day. This wasn't the first time I had seen an ad for his album, so I finally decided to check out his stuff...

And I was immediately hooked!!

A couple of months ago, Kyle had made a post on Facebook regarding the need for a bassist for a day to sub for his bassist. Well, of course, I decided to comment and give it a shot, so I started sending Kyle and his bandmates' videos of me playing their stuff, starting with "Sinkin'," "Hallucinations," and so on and so forth.

Well, fast forward to April of this year, I was able to hop up onstage in San Antonio and Austin to perform "Jaded" with them. And that was just an incredible experience. Through these performances, I got told that I would be a sub for not just one show, but four whole shows!!

And Now...

I just finished performing all 4 of the shows and to say that I'm honored to have had the trust of these guys to play 90 minute sets with no rehearsals whatsoever is an understatement...

@kylesmithjams, @scottybeatz805 & @christmascheetah, I just want to thank you for everything you've done for me. This has been such an amazing opportunity that has already opened up so many doors for me. You guys are absolute legends and I'm proud to have been apart of the journey.

Holy cow... @oceanmistbar was incredible!! Playing on the same stage Sublime and even Johnny Winter played was absolutely insane. The crowd was great and @dudemanbrori killed it, especially when their horn section joined us for a 20+ minute rendition of "China Cat Sunflower > Fire On the Mountain."

Now onto Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona for a little run with @kylesmithjams. Super stoked to be jamming with these legends again 😁
